Nissan South Africa recently announced the introduction of a new transmission called EZ-Shift for the Magnite range. The new gearbox, which bridges the gap between the between the 5-speed manual and continuously variable transmission (CVT) variants, is a 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).

Stefan Haasbroek, Marketing Director at Nissan Africa says, “We are excited to launch the new Magnite EZ-Shift, which builds on Nissan’s global SUV heritage and advanced technology, offering a feature-rich crossover experience that delivers on style and presence.”

    Powertrain

There are three model derivatives to choose from, namely Visia, Acenta and Acenta Plus. They are powered by a non-turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine which develops 53kW and 96Nm for the Visia and Acenta gardes while the Acenta Plus gains a bit more power and torque – 74kW and 160Nm. Nissan claims the Magnite Visia EZ-Shift and Acenta EZ-Shift have an average fuel consumption of 5.9l/100km while the more powerful Acenta Plus will average 5.27/100km.
