We recently joined GWM SA for their Brand Renewal Conference 2024 in Kramerville, Sandton. GWM announced four models that will be making their way to our shores soon.

GWM Jolion and Jolion Pro
The popular Jolion gets an update, and with that it gets 5 models from the City all the way up to the Ultra Luxury. Entry level models City and Super Luxury get a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that produces 105kW/210Nm with that power being sent to the front wheels via 7-speed DCT. Ultra Luxury and Sport gets the same 1.5-litre turbocharged motor but with a bit more shove, 130kW/270Nm. The range topping Ultra Luxury model gets a Hybrid powertrain that’s good for 140kW/370Nm combined. GWM says that the Jolion and Jolion Pro will hit our market in Q2 of 2024.
Haval H7
Arriving in Q2 of 2024, the new Haval H7 will be offered in petrol and hybrid configurations. The petrol derivative is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that produces 170 kw/380Nm of torque. Power is sent to either the rear wheels or all-wheel-drive system via a 9-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre turbocharged engine along with the hybrid powertrain makes a combined 179 kW/530 Nm. It sends its power to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox.

GWM P-Series P500
In the hotly contested bakkie market, GWM will be introducing the new P-Series P500 in Q2 of 2024. The large bakkie will be available in diesel and hybrid petrol version. The diesel derivative is powered by a 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine that makes 135 kW/480 Nm. It sends its power to its 4 wheel drive system via 9-speed automatic transmission. The range topping model in the line-up utilizes a hybrid powertrain that produces 255 kW/648 Nm which will make it the second most powerful bakkie in SA. Coupled with a 4 wheel drive system it employs a 9-speed automatic. Both models have a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes.

GWM Tank 500
GWM recently launched the Tank 300 and the Tank 500 following close to its footsteps. The marginally bigger SUV utilizes the same 2.0-liter turbocharged engine supported by a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) that you’ll find in the Tank 300. Its rated at 255 kW/648 Nm and sends power to its four wheel drive system via a 9 speed automatic. The GWM Tank 500 is set to make its debut in Q2 of 2024.
