GWM is making a bold statement in the luxury SUV and bakkie segments with the introduction of the Tank 500 and P500 HEV Ultra Luxury models. Both vehicles are packed with premium features, powerful hybrid powertrains, and an imposing presence that commands attention.

    Design and presence

The GWM P500 HEV 4X4 and Tank 500 4X4 share bold, chrome-heavy designs that amplify their road presence. The P500 sports an assertive bakkie look with generous chrome accents, while the Tank 500 takes luxury SUV styling to another level with its massive grille, 20-inch chrome wheels, and sophisticated 7-seater layout. Both models feature panoramic sunroofs, adding a touch of elegance.

    Interior and features

Step inside, and the premium feel is unmistakable. Both vehicles come standard with a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and heated, cooled, and massage seats. The Tank 500’s spacious 7-seater cabin is adorned with high-end materials, while the P500 offers the same level of luxury in a bakkie format. Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and a 360-degree camera make driving both vehicles a stress-free experience.

    Power and performance

Under the hood, both the Tank 500 and P500 HEV Ultra Luxury are powered by a hybrid powertrain delivering an impressive 255 kW and 648 Nm of torque. Power is managed through a 9-speed automatic transmission and sent to all four wheels, ensuring capable performance on and off-road. Additionally, the Tank 500 boasts an off-road drift function for adventurous drivers.

    On the road

Highway cruising felt effortless, thanks to the ample power and torque paired with a magic carpet-like ride quality. Long-distance journeys were a breeze, with heated, cooled, and massage seats keeping fatigue at bay. Off-road driving was equally impressive, with various modes and features like the 360-degree camera making tricky terrain manageable.

    Final Thoughts

Whether you’re looking for the practicality of a bakkie with the P500 HEV 4X4 Ultra Luxury or the space and opulence of a 7-seater SUV with the Tank 500, GWM has delivered vehicles that rival high-end brands at a competitive price point. They’re luxurious, powerful, and packed with features that make them stand out in their respective segments.
