Suzuki Auto South Africa has officially begun construction on its new head office and distribution centre at Longlake Logistics Park in Gauteng. The sod-turning ceremony, held on 21 May, marks a major milestone for the brand as it celebrates 17 consecutive years of sales growth in the local market.

In partnership with real estate group Fortress, the new 24,507m² facility will replace Suzuki’s current headquarters at Linbro Business Park. The custom-built site is expected to be completed by mid-2026 and is designed to accommodate the company’s rapid growth and expanding workforce.

“This move marks a significant chapter in our journey,” said Berto van der Lith, Vice President and CFO of Suzuki Auto South Africa. “Our new headquarters will allow for further improvements in our operations and support the growth we foresee in the coming years. Suzuki is proud to partner with Fortress, whose team has demonstrated deep insight and commitment to our needs.”

The new facility will feature 2,900m² of modern office space and 19,100m² of warehousing, including a clear height of 15 metres for improved vertical storage. It will also house state-of-the-art training facilities, boardrooms, a workshop, and a 100-seater canteen. The logistics centre is designed for optimal efficiency, with large yards and easy vehicle access.

“We set out to deliver more than just warehouse space for Suzuki,” said Marguerite Oosthuizen, Leasing Consultant at Fortress. “It was about creating a tailored, future-focused facility that embodies the brand, supports its people, and enables bold, sustainable growth.”

The development reinforces Suzuki’s long-term investment in South Africa and aligns with its strategy of building a strong local footprint. With 105 dealerships across Southern Africa—including Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Eswatini—Suzuki is one of the fastest-growing automotive brands in the region.

The brand has also earned numerous accolades, including multiple wins at the Cars.co.za Consumer Awards and several category victories in the Car of the Year competition. As Suzuki continues to grow, its new headquarters will play a key role in supporting its operations and customer base across Southern Africa.
