Toyota has refreshed the Rumion for 2025, bringing a series of practical upgrades that strengthen its appeal as a comfortable and efficient people mover. The latest model focuses on improved safety, updated styling and added convenience features, reinforcing why it remains a favourite among families and commuters.

    Sharper styling with added practicality

The Rumion’s exterior has been subtly reshaped for more presence and improved function. The roof is now 120 mm longer, the pillars are 22 mm wider and the rear overhang grows by 40 mm. These changes help refine the silhouette while also enhancing interior practicality.

A new rear bumper and redesigned rear combination lamps freshen up the look, while both a roof-end spoiler and roof-side spoiler are now standard across the range. These updates build on the bold black mesh grille introduced previously, giving the Rumion a more confident and modern appearance.

    Smarter safety across the range

Safety receives one of the biggest upgrades for 2025. All variants now come standard with Side and Curtain Airbags. Toyota has also improved occupant protection by adding a third headrest to the third row and upgrading the second-row centre seatbelt to a full three-point setup. These enhancements reflect Toyota’s focus on keeping families secure on every journey.

    Convenience upgrades inside

Inside the cabin, Toyota has made thoughtful improvements aimed at keeping passengers connected. The SX gains a Type-C charging port in the second row. The top-spec TX adds even more convenience with additional Type-C ports for both the second and third rows.

    Reliable powertrain with strong efficiency

Under the bonnet, the Rumion continues with the well-proven 1.5 litre K15B petrol engine that produces 77 kW and 138 Nm. Buyers can choose either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Fuel consumption remains at 6.2 L/100 km. Top speed is rated at 175 km/h for the manual and 170 km/h for the automatic.

Customers can choose from a wide palette of exterior colours, including Mystic Pearl White, Premier Liquid Silver, Azure Blue, Seal Grey Metallic, Autumn Blaze Red, Cedar Brown and Shadow Black Pearl.

The 2025 Toyota Rumion builds on its established strengths with smarter safety features, fresher styling and small but meaningful convenience upgrades. It remains an attractive option for South Africans who prioritise space, comfort and good value.

    Model line-up and pricing:

    • Rumion 1.5 S MT: R307,900

    • Rumion 1.5 TX MT: R383,000
