New Volkswagen T-Roc R SUV revealed with meaner power

Volkswagen has released official information and pictures of its all new T-Roc R SUV.

Tuned at the Nurburgring ‘Green Hell’ by VW’s R division, the T-Roc R boasts a Golf R four-cylinder 2.0 litre turbo engine with 221 kW and 400 Nm. That amount of power is sent to all four wheel via VW’s 4Motion system plus a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission.

Volkswagen says the T-Roc R can do a 0-100km/h in a claimed 4.9 seconds before maxing out at a 250km/h, we have no reason to dispute that.

Although the T-Roc is not available in SA, it features a lowered suspension, a revised steering and Golf R brakes.

Sadly, Volkswagen SA isn’t clear if it considers bringing it to the local market.
