Volkswagen will introduce its first compact T-Cross SUV in South Africa in the second half of the year.

Based on the same MQB underpinnings found under the new Polo, the T-Cross will join the good looking Touareg and Tiguan in the expanding SUV segment. The T-Cross slots below the Tiguan.

In terms of dimensions, it is 4 237mm long, boasts a wheelbase of 2 551mm and is
1 584mm metres high and all that translates to a 455 litres worth of boot space.

The T-Cross will be available with optional LED headlights with wheel sizes of up to 18 inches. The interior of the T-Cross is similar to that of the new Polo and will be offered with optional Active Info Display.

Volkswagen says the T-Cross’ starting price will be below R300 000 and is available in two-tone paintwork.

The T-Cross will be available for pre-orders from the second half of the year and will officially be launched into the South African market towards the end of the year.

As from 2020, Volkswagen will add another SUV model in the line-up for our market.
