VW Golf 8 will bring something new

While the internet is feeding us with the next generation Golf 8 renders, a report by VW’s sales chief Jurgen Stackmann conducted by Autocar in Geneva suggests that the Golf 8 will boast a high level of digitization inside the cabin.

That means it will be offer cutting-edge tech in the form of an advanced digital instrument cluster and the latest infotainment system.

Autocar reports that even turning on the headlights might change in the eighth-gen Golf as apparently there will be a touchpad for that instead of the familiar switch you’ll find on most VAG cars. The climate controls might also be built into the touchscreen, much like they are on the aforementioned posh midsize SUV.

With the GTD’s future uncertain, Stackmann said that the Golf R and GTI will live to see another generation.

The Golf is expected to have a longer wheelbase and a much bigger boot.

We still don’t know when VW is going to show the Golf to the world.
