Renault updates Sandero range, adds Stepway Plus

Renault Sandero has enjoyed immense popularity in Mzansi and Renault has introduced an updated version to continue its onslaught in the supermini segent. That’s not all, the flagship Stepway makes room for a new Stepway Plus.

The enhanced Sandero gains newly designed front and back bumpers with headlamps now incorporating C-shape Daytime Running Lights (LED) plus C-shape rear lights.

The Stepway Plus sets itself apart with features that include an integrated roof spoiler, higher ground clearance than the entry Sandero Expression, roof bars, front and rear skid plates, wheel arch mouldings and front fog lights.

The range is offered with either 15″ wheels (Sandero Expression) or 16″ dark metal flex wheels (Stepway).

In terms of safety, the Sandero is the only car in its class to include EBA (coupled with ABS) and ESP (+ ASR) as standard across the range. Additionally, the Sandero continues to offer technology which is typically not associated with the segment. This includes On-board Navigation and Smartphone Mirroring (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility).

The Sandero is powered by a turbo petrol 66kW/135Nm engine that is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Fuel consumption for the Sandero Expression is claimed to be just 5.2 litres/100km whilst that of the Stepway is claimed to be 5.4 litres/100km the Stepway. An Eco mode will allow drivers to save even further at the fuel pumps.

Renault has introduced a new flagship to the Sandero range. The range topping Stepway Plus features model specific design and badging with 16″ two-tone flexwheel covers, Gloss Black door mirrors with a distinctive red line. The Stepway Plus is offered with 3 new body colours:  Fusion Red, Highland Silver and Café Brown. Additional standard features of the new Stepway Plus include side airbags, front and rear power windows, electric side mirrors, leather steering wheel and gear knob and rear park assist (with rea camera). Cruise control and navigation are also standard while leather seats are an option.

    Sandero Expression                       R179,900
