    SA bound 2020 Hyundai ix25 (Creta) revealed

    By Staff Report

    Ever since its reveal back in 2015, Hyundai’s Creta has been quite a popular choice for consumers in the market for a sub-compact SUV. After the reveal of the second generation in 2019 at the Shanghai Auto Show in China, dubbed the ix25, Hyundai is set to launch the ix25 (Creta) in India at the Auto Expo 2020.

    Bold Exterior, Posh interior

    The exterior design of the new Hyundai ix25 (Creta) looks bolder than the model it replaces. A larger grille borrowed from the models like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Venue dominates much of the front-end with slim, j-shaped daytime running lights and LED headlights flanking it on each side of the grille. The ix25’s rear design look gets a modern touch like the front-end.

    The interior has a clean and elegant design. New to the ix25 (Creta) is a 10.25-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment integrated with the center console, digital instrument cluster, flat bottom steering wheel, panoramic roof, ventilated seats, electronic park brake, 360-degree camera, paddle-shifters and push-start button.

    Driver Assistance Systems

    The ix25 (Creta) will feature the following driver assistance systems:

    • Lane departure warning;
    • Lane keep assist;
    • Driver fatigue detection;
    • Front collision braking system; and
    • Full speed domain adaption cruise.

    Engines

    Though not confirmed for South Africa, the new ix25 (Creta) will make use of the following engines:

    • 1.5-litre petrol 84 kW;
    • 1.5-litre turbo diesel 84 kW; and
    • 1.4-litre turbo petrol 88 kW.

    The new Hyundai Creta is confirmed for local launch during the fourth-quarter of 2020.
