    All-new Mahindra Thar revealed

    Mahindra has revealed the latest iteration of its iconic Thar which grows in size, gets new interior and exterior looks, and upgraded technology.

    Exterior

    The new Thar embraces a more modern look compared to the outgoing model. Prominent exterior features include LED Daytime Running Lamps, Dual Tone Bumpers, Front Fog Lamps, LED Tail Lamps and 45.72 cm (R18) Deep Silver Alloy Wheels.

    Roof options include a Hard Top, a first-in-class Convertible Top and an optional Soft Top.

    The all-new Thar will be available in 6 colours, Red Rage, Mystic Copper, Napoli Black, Aquamarine, Galaxy Grey and Rocky Beige.

    Interior

    Inside, an all-new interior with an all-black theme with silver accents is introduced with a drizzle resistant 17.8 cm touchscreen infotainment system (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, Navigation), cruise control and adventure statistics display.

    Other comfort features include sporty front features, front facing rear seats with 50:50 split or 2+4 side-facing seats, roof mounted speakers, height adjustable driver seat with adjustable lumbar support, one-touch tip & slide mechanism on the co-driver seat, and central locking with remote flip key.

    Safety features

    The new Thar includes safety features such as ABS and EBD, Dual airbags, ESP with rollover mitigation, Hill-hold and hill descent control, and rear parking sensors.

    Engines

    Two engines are on offer with the new Mahindra Thar, that is, a 2.0 litre mStallion TGDi Petrol (112 kW/320 Nm) engine and a 2.2 litre mHawk Diesel (97 kW/320 Nm) engine. The engines are paired to either a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission.

    Along with capable performance, Mahindra is offering “first-in-class” capability with the new Thar which includes a Brake Locking Differential, approach, departure, and ramp over angles at 41.8 degrees, 36.8 degrees and 27 degrees respectively, ground clearance of 226mm in unladen condition and wading depth of 650mm.
