Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) managed to sell a total of 8,320 vehicles in July 2021 despite the civil unrest that engulfed KwaZulu-Natal and parts of Gauteng which in turn hampered business operations at its Prospecton Plant for about a week, while operations at many dealerships had to be suspended.
The Hilux as well as its reliable ally in the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment, Hiace, that led Toyota sales with 2,836 and 1,205 apiece.
