Volvo Car South Africa has announced the expansion of its refreshed XC60 range, which has been the Swedish automaker’s top-selling vehicle globally since 2009. With the launch of an additional variant, it renders the Swedish luxury firm’s most popular XC60 even more attainable.

The XC60 B5 comes with a comprehensive list of standard features like 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, parking assist (front and rear), a reversing camera and inductive smartphone charging, while leather upholstery is optional.
The newcomer furthermore boasts the company’s latest Android-powered infotainment system, complete with built-in Google apps and services, and the ability to receive over-the-air updates.

Powering the XC60 B5 is a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine paired with a mild-hybrid system that includes a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) capable of recuperating braking energy to charge a 48-volt battery. The powertrain makes 183 kW and 350 Nm paired to Volvo’s Geartronic 8-speed automatic transmission. The Front Wheel Drive (FWD) XC60 B5 sprints from 0-100km/h in 7.0 seconds.
