Limited edition Ford Mustang California Special heading to SA

Ford’s Mustang is a high-performance car that needs no introduction. The latest iteration was revealed to the world back in 2015. Throughout its lifetime it has seen numerous limited edition models. Adding to the tally is the the California Special. Ford SA will only bring 100 California Special ponies to South Africa.

New styling
Visually the Mustang California Special adds a special-edition design package with unique badging and detailing, 19-inch alloy wheels and special “colour shift” California Special decals delivering distinctive styling. It’s also fitted Ford’s newest interpretation of the original honeycomb front grille finished in Ebony Black and featuring a GT/CS badge in Race Red, as well as lower side stripes finished in black, red and grey.
Incorporating GT/CS logos, the stripes run from the front to rear wings and feature a hidden “California Special” script that is almost invisible in low light conditions but becomes much more prominent in stronger sunlight. The Mustang CS is available in 8 exterior colours, including signature Atlas Blue and Cyber Orange. Inside, the Mustang California Special is kitted with bespoke California Special detailing adding exclusive appeal.

Performance
The Mustang California Special is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 engine delivering 330kW/529Nm and paired to an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission. Ford claims the CS will sprint from O to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds.
Ford’s local arm will confirm local pricing and further details at launch later in the year. Only the coupe will be available
