Another new Suzuki model joining the new Fronx and eVX concept SUV at the 2023 Auto Expo is the first-ever Jimny 5-door. The new model derivative will cater to the needs of avid off-roaders who want more space for luggage or seating for two more passengers.

Exterior
Apart from a pair of new doors and a longer wheelbase, the new Jimny 5-door’s design and styling remains unchanged. The newcomer has an overall length of 3,985 mm, a width of 1,645 mm and a height of 1,720 mm. Its wheelbase has been stretched to 2,590 mm.

Interior
Like the exterior, much of the interior remains the same. The 5-door Jimny is however equipped with a 9.0-inch touch display featuring a new infotainment system with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. The 5-door Jimny avails more room for passengers at the rear and has a rather small sized luggage space of 208 litres, which can be expanded to 332 litres by folding the rear bench.
Safety
On the safety side, the 5-door Jimny gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, a Limited Slip Differential, ESP with Hill Hold Assist, Hill Descent Control and a rear view camera.
Powerplant
Powering the Jimny 5-door is a 1.5-litre K-series naturally aspirated petrol engine churning 78 kW and 134 Nm. The engine is paired with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with the automaker’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system with low-range transfer gear.
