Isuzu Thailand recently unveiled a new model derivative of the bakkie-based mu-X seven-seater SUV called the mu-X Phantom Collection. Tweaks done to the special edition mu-X are not mechanical but only purely cosmetic.

mu-X Phantom Collection exterior styling
Outside, the mu-X Phantom Collection sports a bunch of gloss black trims and accents. Up front, these include the grille and its fog lights housing. Interestingly the Isuzu badge remains silver. In profile, the Phantom Collection is shod with large 20-inch wheels coated in black, as well as black roof rails and side steps.
At the rear, the special edition model looks like it has LED taillights with black housings. The colours of the mu-X Phantom Collection are limited to only two, namely Islay Grey Opaque and Dolomite White Pearl.

The black treatment also filtered into the cabin of the mu-X Phantom Collection. The dashboard, door panels and trims are all finished in black. The leather seats are also black and Isuzu uses new leatherette material called ‘Cool Max’ which is said to absorb less heat compared to the standard seats.
Powertrains
Powering the Isuzu mu-X Phantom Collection is a 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine 140kW/450Nm and paired to a 6-speed auto transmission. Customers in Thailand can also opt for the 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine developing 110kW/350Nm and also coupled with a 6-speed auto.
