Land Rover’s current generation Defender model has received quite a handful of limited-edition models like the Defender V8 Bond Edition and the 75th Limited Edition. Adding to the tally of limited-edition derivatives is the recently revealed Rugby World Cup 2023 Limited Edition which celebrates Land Rover’s partnership with the 2023 Rugby World Cup which will be held in France.

    Unique exterior styling

The exterior of the limited-edition model is finished in Santorini Black, it’s shod with 22-inch Satin Gold alloy wheels with matching bumper inserts, Defender script and signature graphic, as well as Rugby World Cup 2023 logos on the fender behind the front wheel. At night, unique puddle lamp graphics with the Rugby World Cup 2023 logo differentiate the limited edition Defender.

    Unique interior styling

Inside, each Rugby World Cup 2023 Limited Edition Defender is trimmed with Windsor Leather finished in Ebony, with matching Ebony headlining and blue contrast stitching on the seats and mats, plus an embroidered Rugby World Cup 2023 logo on the front headrests. Further exclusivity is created by a laser-etched fascia end cap on the dashboard, with ‘Rugby World Cup France 2023’ script, and the individual number of each model. This is complemented by illuminated tread plates with the same script and number.

    Plug-in hybrid powertrain

Powering the Defender Rugby World Cup 2023 Limited Edition is Land Rover’s P400e plug-in electric hybrid which makes use of a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol powertrain and an electric motor delivering a total system output of 297kW and 640Nm.

    Public debut and availability

The Rugby World Cup 2023 Limited Edition Defender will be presented for the first time at Le Palais de Tokyo on 7 September, during an exceptional evening where an international artist will perform in front of key opinion leaders, VIPs and media, marking the start of this global event for Defender.

All 23 Rugby World Cup 2023 Limited Edition Defenders will be delivered to clients from March 2024.
