Maserati recently revealed the first-ever limited edition (only 50 units globally) version of the Italian brand’s two-seater sports car called the MC20 Notte Edition. It sports a handful of unique exterior and interior unique features which drew inspiration from Maserati’s racing world.

‘The midus touch’
The automaker’s Fuoriserie (meaning ‘custom-built’ in Italian) team collaborated with Andrea Bertolini, Maserati reference driver and former GT1 world champion with the Trident, to develop the Maserati MC20 Notte bodywork. Its exterior turns from a glossy black shade to a magnetic matte ‘nero essenza’ hue ready to glow in the dark thanks to ‘the Midas touch’ of track predator Bertolini turning the details – the Trident, the side logos and the Maserati signature – from silver to matte white gold, reigniting the brand’s motorsport memories.
The 20-inch matte black birdcage wheels feature accents in matte white golden while the brake calipers are black.

Unique interior touches
Inside, the MC20 Notte features 6-way power sport seats in Alcantara black/grey with yellow stitching. The Trident is on the headrests, and the Alcantara sport steering wheel has carbon fiber inserts. An exclusive metal plate celebrating the Maserati MC20 Notte Edition along with a distinctive ‘UNA DI 50’ (one of 50) signature is applied between the two headrests.
Performance
The MC20 Notte Edition is still powered by a twin-turbocharged, twin-combustion 3.0-liter V6 that produces a hefty 463 kW/729 Nm and is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. That means it can sprint to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 323 km/h. The engine is developed in-house at Maserati, employs F1 inspired technology to increase power and the car has best-in-class power-to-weight ratio allowing it to maximize performance.
Pricing and availability
As mentioned above, Maserati will only avail 50 units worldwide. The automaker’s local arm is yet to confirm whether any units will be reserved for South Africa. That said, the MC20 coupe and MC20 Cielo spyder are priced from R6,900,000 and R7,820,000 respectively.
