LDV South Africa recently confirmed that its full range of passenger and commercial vehicles have received the green light for local introduction. The company, part of the global SAIC automotive group, recently announced the introduction of the LDV T60 double cab pick-up range. This will be the first model in its line-up, and it has already started shipping vehicles to dealers prior to its launch in May.
LDV D90
The second model that is expected on local soil is the D90 SUV. For the South African market, this seven-seater D90 SUV will be equipped with a 160 kW bi-turbo diesel engine which is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and an intelligent all-terrain response system.
“LDV has just unveiled a new generation D90 with its most modern engine and infotainment technology to date. This includes multi-zone climate control, a JBL-tuned sound system and as many as three differential locks for 4×4 models. It is this new-generation D90 that will be introduced in South Africa,” says Ockert Conradie, General Manager of LDV South Africa.
LDV G90
Another model on the menu for South Africa is the G90 MPV. This model range offers a new level of luxury in the MPV segment. This includes, depending on the model derivative chosen, independently adjustable rear seats, quilted leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, a multi-screen infotainment system that stretches across the breadth of the front dashboard and advanced driver assistance technology.
The G90 MPV will arrive in South Africa with the choice of seven or eight seats, with the former offering adjustable captain seat configuration.
LDV G10+
For large and small businesses alike, LDV South Africa is finalising a line-up of commercial vehicles.
The first model planned for South Africa is the 1-tonne G10+ Delivery Van. This medium-sized panel van is said to be a top-seller in Australia. It has a 5.2 m3 of securable cargo space, smartphone connectivity, a reverse camera, it’s powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine which is paired with an automatic transmission and has two sliding doors.
LDV South Africa will offer all these models with a full 5-year / 200 000 km factory warranty and a service plan for five years / 100 000 km. “If our experience in countries like Australia is anything to go by, then South African customers will love the performance, durability and support that LDV products and our dealer network offers,” says Conradie.
