In January, Lexus unveiled the LBX Morizo RR Concept which debuted at Tokyo Auto Saloon. The automaker has now lifted the veils off the production version of the LBX Morizo RR which was developed alongside master driver Akio Toyoda, also known as Morizo, to deliver the refined signature Lexus driving quality and sophisticated design.
Performance
Straight off the bat, underneath the bonnet of the potent LBX is a GR Yaris sourced 1.6-litre three-cylinder petrol engine developing 224kW and 400Nm. It’s paired with an eight-speed torque converter “Direct Auto Transmission”, or Lexus first, 6-speed iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission), and it sends all its power through an electronically controlled full-time all-wheel drive system. Lexus claims a sprint time from zero to 100km/h in just 5.2 seconds.
Other technical highlights include MacPherson strut and Double wishbone suspension at the front and rear respectively, and ventilated 18-inch disc brakes at the front and 16-inches at the rear.
Exterior and interior
Outside, the LBX Morizo RR sets itself apart with Morizo’s signature yellow colour features in the plated moulding of the unified spindle grille, the brake callipers and the seat-belts, which carry the Morizo RR logo. Other features include sports seats, alloy pedals, 19-inch (235/45R19) wheels and coloured wheel arch and rocker mouldings.
LBX Morizo Bespoke Build
In the “Bespoke Build” program, customers can craft their own unique vehicle from a wide range of variations. Special custom options, such as dedicated brake calipers in Morizo’s signature yellow, are available. 100 units of the LBX Morizo RR “Bespoke Build” will be available through a lottery in Japan.
