Ford Australia recently unveiled a new Tremor derivative for the ‘Blue Oval’s’ popular adventure SUV – the seven-seater Everest. Like the Ranger Tremor it’s based on, the Everest Tremor boasts off-road bits & bobs, unique exterior and interior styling, and model-specific equipment. Unlike the Ranger Tremor which is powered by a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine, the Everest Tremor is powered by a meaty 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine.

Everest Tremor exterior and interior styling and features
Outside, the Tremor sports model-specific exterior styling. These include a signature Tremor grille which includes factory fitted auxiliary LED lights, front tow hooks and a steel bash plate. It’s shod with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with General Grabber AT3 All-Terrain tyres and Asphalt Black Wheel Arch Mouldings.
Other noteworthy exterior styling features include a new Command Grey body colour and ‘Tremor’ badging on the front doors and tailgate. Inside, there are two more ‘Tremor’ badges embossed to the front leather seats and, like the Ranger Tremor, there’s also nifty all-weather floor mats.
Safety and driver assistance systems
The Everest Tremor boasts a 5-star ANCAP safety rating and comes with 9 airbags. Driver assistance systems include Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Centering, Intelligent Speed Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring with Cross Traffic Alert, Pre-Collission Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Intersection Assist.
Everest Tremor performance
Powering the Everest Tremor is Ford’s 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine churning 184kW and 600Nm. It’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. 4WD models get Ford’s fancy e-Shifter gear selector while 2WD models get a conventional gear lever.
Ford has also fitted the Everest Tremor with an off-road suspension. It features position-sensitive Bilstein Dampers with a lift kit to provide additional off-road capability, without affecting its 3500kg max towing capacity.
Availability
Currently, the Everest Tremor is available for the Australian market but we are confident Ford South Africa will add this new Everest derivative to their local line-up.
