As promised a few months ago, BAIC South Africa has unveiled the updated Beijing X55 Plus which recently made its public debut at the Festival Of Motoring. The locally assembled X55 Plus gets minor exterior design tweaks and upgraded safety.

    Exterior and interior

On the outside, apart from a fresh design with Sporty Blade Wheels and a quad exhaust, the design and styling remains untouched. It is available in an array of vibrant colours, including Scarlet Red, Polar White, Electric Yellow, Metallic Grey, Krypton Grey, and Turquoise Blue.

Inside, the vehicle boasts a sophisticated full black interior, exuding modernity and elegance. The cabin is also equipped with advanced connectivity features, including Easy Connection, which allows users to mirror their smartphone screens on the vehicle’s head unit. It offers both wireless charging and a Type-C charging port, making it convenient for drivers to keep their devices powered on the go.

    Safety

The Beijing X55 Plus comes with a comprehensive suite of safety features. These include a nifty 540-degree 4D Transparent Chassis view which provides a panoramic view of the road beneath the vehicle.

More safety technologies include Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Intelligent Cruise Assist (ICA), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), and Forward Collision Warning (FCW).

    Pricing

    X55 Plus Dynamic – R429,900

    X55 Plus Elite – R469,900

    X55 Plus Premium – R509,900

    X55 Plus Premium 2T – R514,900
