    The Lexus NX 450h+ is a sophisticated hybrid SUV that sets a new benchmark for luxury and efficiency in its segment. Positioned as Lexus’s plug-in hybrid flagship in the NX line-up, it combines elegant design, cutting-edge technology, and impressive fuel economy with the brand’s hallmark refinement and bespoke workmanship and quality.

    A 2.5L four-cylinder petrol engine powers the NX450h+ with dual electric motors to produce a combined 227kW of power. The powertrain delivers a seamless blend of performance and efficiency, with the e-CVT gearbox ensuring smooth acceleration. Its suspension soaks up bumps with finesse, and while it’s tuned more for smooth cruising than sporty dynamics, the handling is composed enough for mild bursts of fun. The hybrid powertrain offers instant torque delivery, making overtaking effortless and city driving enjoyable. Add to that the near-silent operation in EV mode, and the NX 450h+ becomes a serene haven on wheels.

    The interior is where Lexus truly shines. The cabin of the NX 450h+ is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, blending plush materials, meticulous attention to detail, and an intuitive layout. Soft leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and natural wood trims create an inviting ambiance. Dominating the dashboard is a 14-inch touchscreen running Lexus’s latest infotainment system, complete with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, integrated navigation, and voice control. The 10-speaker premium sound system ensures crystal-clear audio quality. We also love the continued use of tactile buttons integrated to the screen. Modern but sensible.

    Passenger comfort is prioritized with heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and plenty of legroom for rear passengers. The cargo area offers a practical 520L of space, expanding to accommodate larger items when the rear seats are folded flat.

    Safety is uncompromised in the NX 450h+, with Lexus’s Safety System+ offering features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera. The addition of parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring makes it a breeze to navigate in tight spaces.

    Priced from R1,365,300, the 2024 Lexus NX 450h+ positions itself as a premium yet efficient SUV. It comes with a 7-year/105,000km warranty and full maintenance plan, ensuring peace of mind for owners. The slightly higher price tag is justified by its plug-in hybrid versatility, luxurious appointments, and impressive fuel economy – as well as that known and trusted Lexus reliability.

    The Lexus NX 450h+ caters to discerning drivers who value sustainability without compromising on style, comfort, or technology. Its combination of eco-conscious performance, advanced tech, and Lexus’s renowned luxury make it an excellent choice for those seeking a forward-thinking, sophisticated SUV.
