Mitsubishi Motors South Africa has introduced an updated version of the Pajero Sport, incorporating a refreshed design, improved interior technology, and new safety features. These updates come with no change in pricing.

    Exterior design

The updated Pajero Sport features a revised front end, with a redesigned Dynamic Shield grille and new front and rear under garnishes. New 18-inch alloy wheels enhance the SUV’s overall presence.

    Interior updates

Inside, the Pajero Sport now features a fully digital eight-inch driver display and a redesigned steering wheel. A black headliner has been introduced across the range to give the cabin a more premium feel. Standard features remain extensive and include black leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a sunroof, electronic tailgate, keyless entry, and remote connectivity.

    Powertrain and capability

All Pajero Sport models are powered by Mitsubishi’s 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine, producing 133 kW and 430 N.m, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 4×4 variants are equipped with Mitsubishi’s Super Select 4WD-II system, offering four selectable off-road modes: Gravel, Mud/Snow, Sand, and Rock. These settings adjust engine output, transmission behaviour and braking to suit different terrains.

    Safety and driver assistance

New safety additions include the Ultrasonic Mis-acceleration Mitigation System (UMS), which helps prevent unintended acceleration in tight spaces, and a Multi Around Monitor that improves parking visibility. Standard safety equipment includes Mitsubishi’s RISE body construction, seven airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, active stability and traction control, ABS, EBD, emergency brake assist, hill-start assist, trailer stability assist, dusk-sensing LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and hill descent control.

    Model range and pricing

The facelifted Pajero Sport continues to be offered in three variants:

    • Pajero Sport 2.4L DI-DC 8AT (2WD) – R789,990
    • Pajero Sport 2.4L DI-DC 8AT (4WD) – R854,990
    • Pajero Sport 2.4L DI-DC 8AT (4WD) Exceed – R884,990

All models come with a three-year/100,000 km manufacturer’s warranty, a five-year/90,000 km service plan, and five-year roadside assistance.
