Opel South Africa first previewed the eye-catching Corsa Irmscher Edition at last year’s Festival of Motoring, albeit with little information regarding its mechanical updates and local launch plans. After another public appearance at the 2025 Simola Hillclimb, the sporty hatch is now officially ready to hit Mzansi’s streets.

    Sporty Exterior Upgrades
The Corsa Irmscher Edition features a host of performance-inspired enhancements that elevate its dynamic presence and styling. These include:

    1) Front spoiler lip

    2) Side skirts

    3) Rear roof spoiler

    4) Rear diffuser

    5) Rear spoiler

    6) Irmscher badging

    7) 18-inch alloy wheels

    8) 225/40 R18 tyres

    9) Lowered suspension (by 30 mm)

    10) Three body colours, all with a black roof

    Performance
Under the bonnet is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 96 kW and 230 Nm of torque. It’s mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the front wheels.

Opel claims the Irmscher Edition will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds, with a top speed of 208 km/h. Fuel consumption figures translate to a claimed range of 698 km from its 44-litre fuel tank.

    Pricing and Availability
The Opel Corsa Irmscher Edition is priced at R534,900, and exclusivity is guaranteed – only 44 units will be available for purchase in South Africa.
