GWM South Africa recently expanded its popular bakkie lineup with the introduction of the new P300 LS range which replaces the outgoing P-Series Black Edition LS.

P300 LS powertrain and mechanical updates

The P300 LS is powered by GWM’s proven 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine, which produces 135 kW and 480 Nm of torque. This setup is paired with a smooth 9-speed automatic transmission, delivering effortless performance on highways and challenging terrains alike.

With 3.5 tonnes of towing capacity, the bakkie is ready for serious work, from hauling construction equipment to towing off-road caravans, without breaking a sweat.

Built for hard work, the P300 LS sits on a rugged ladder-frame chassis with a double wishbone front suspension, leaf spring rear suspension and a split chassis guard for under-body protection.

The 4×4 model adds an electronic rear differential lock, providing extra traction in muddy, sandy, or rocky conditions. Despite its robust build, the suspension is tuned to offer a stable and surprisingly comfortable ride, even when fully loaded.

    Bold Exterior Design

Exterior standout highlights include a bold front grille with LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels and flared wheel arches, functional roof rails and fixed sidesteps, and an electric-lock tailgate for convenience.

    Premium interior

Inside, and the P300 LS feels closer to a modern SUV than a work bakkie. Stand-out features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver display, voice recognition, wireless charging, multiple USB ports, a 6-speaker audio system, a leather steering wheel and an interior fragrance system.

    Safety features

The P300 LS is packed with safety features to keep drivers confident in all conditions, including: Electronic stability and traction control, Hill start assist & downhill control, Trailer sway control & reverse camera with dynamic guidelines and ABS with EBD and multiple airbags.
